MARC JACOBS – NEW YORK – SPRING/SUMMER 2017

Marc Jacobs is always the finale of New York Fashion Week for a reason! His latest collection on September 15th at the Hammerstein Ballroom was the perfect closing spectacle and just the thing to wake up fatigue fashion editors after 9 days of trekking around NYC. For SS’17 the season designer gave us a world of dreadlocked cyber ravers in short skirts, satin pants, and 7’’ platforms.

Gigi and Bella HadidKendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn, Adriana Lima, and Irina Shayk modeled looks that seemed to be inspired by retro 70’s hippies and disco divas, David Bowie, Harajuku, romanticism, Erykah Badu, school girl chic, military motifs and roller girls. While this sounds like a far flung range of influences, Jacobs proved himself to be be the ultimate mix master, once again providing an eye candy collection that was somehow still cohesive despite its many, many elements.
